EPC EPC9150 400x275Efficient Power Conversion (EPC) has announced the availability of its EPC9150, a 200-volt, high-current, pulsed-laser diode demonstration board. The board can be used with a lidar system to help create 3D maps for autonomous vehicle applications, where speed and accuracy of object detection is critical. Priced at $414 each, the EPC9150 demonstration board is now available through Digi-Key.

The OH0TA OVMed medical image sensor quadruples the resolution of its previous sensor, and also breaks the Guinness World Record for “smallest commercially available image sensor.” The second launch is the OVMed OCHTA camera module, which also improves image quality for single-use endoscopy procedures in the smallest parts of the body.

The venture aims to produce high image quality and energy efficiency for AI inference nodes, benefiting several applications in industrial automation, smart devices, and smart retail, among others.

OMRON FH SMD400x275Japan’s OMRON Corp. has announced its new FH-SMD 3D Vision Sensor, which can be mounted on a robot to recognize randomly placed (bulk) automotive parts in three dimensions, enabling space-saving assembly, inspection, and pick-and-place tasks, which are generally difficult to do with conventional robots. OMRON said it continues to bring innovation to manufacturing sites through solutions that combine robots and automation devices.
