AlliedVision AlviumC2460 400x275Allied Vision has announced expanding the range of its Alvium CSI-2 camera series with the high-resolution Alvium 1800 CSI-2 model, equipped with high-quality Type 1.2 (19.3 mm diagonal) Sony fourth-generation IMX540 back-illuminated CMOS sensor with Pregius S global shutter technology. The compact, sugar cube format of the 1800 C-2460 offers the highest possible resolution within such a small housing, the company said.

Together with the high-performance CSI-2 camera, Allied Vision also released a new MIPI CSI-2 driver for all NVIDIA Jetson modules, including the NVIDIA Jetson Nano 2GB with NVIDIA JetPack SDK version 4.4.1 (L4T 32.4.4). A beta driver for JetPack 4.5.1 (L4T 32.5.1) will be available shortly, the company said.

Allied Vision said the C-2460 also offers high quantum efficiency, lower readout noise and higher spatial recognition, resulting in excellent image quality with high dynamic range. “Because of the decreased pixel size of 2.74 µm, higher pixel densities (i.e. resolutions) for the same optical format are possible,” the company said. “In addition, Pregius S BSI (Back Side Illuminated) sensors support wider light incidence angles, enabling simpler lens designs with less sensor shading.”
