Cepton dSPACE 400x275Cepton, which provides intelligent lidar-based solutions, and dSPACE, which develops simulation and validation solutions, have announced a collaboration to enable easier adoption of lidar technology in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), autonomous vehicles (AV), and other autonomous applications. The partnership looks to enable dSPACE to integrate Cepton’s lidar sensors into its simulation tool chain, helping customers accelerate their development using Cepton lidars.

The tour will allow manufacturers to experience ActiNav hands-on, with Universal Robots, its partners, and systems integrators.


Algolux400x275Algolux, a computer vision software company, has announced raising $18.4 million in Series B funding. The new investment will be used by the Montreal-based company to accelerate market adoption of its computer vision and image optimization solutions. The round was co-led by Forte Ventures and Drive Capital, with additional funding from new investors Investissement Quebec, Castor Ventures, and Nikon-SBI Innovation Fund. Existing ventures GM Ventures, Generation Ventures, and Intact Ventures also participated.


SICKRuler3000 400x275SICK has announced the first in a new generation of Ruler3000 3D streaming cameras, designed to offer systems integrators with a way to harness the speed and measurement precision of SICK’s high-definition 3D imaging technology. The Ruler3000 is a pre-calibrated device that combines SICK’s Ranger3 streaming camera with a Class 2 eye-safe laser, pre-selected optics and fixed geometries to enable simpler configuration and commissioning.

Featuring a smaller size with high-quality 3D imaging, the Mech-Eye Nano is aimed at precision-required applications and on-arm mounting for pick-and-place robot applications.


OusterDanfossLidar sensor maker Ouster has announced it has partnered with Danfoss Power Solutions to accelerate the adoption of Ouster’s digital lidar sensors and provide turnkey implementation for end users. Danfoss provides mobile hydraulic and electrification products and solutions for construction, agriculture and other on-highway and off-highway vehicle markets, supporting OEM customers and distribution partners.

The system features a compact Hailo-8 AI accelerator module, enabling better performance and AI inference capabilities at the edge. The collaboration allows for best-in-class power productivity and edge ecosystem development possibilities, the companies said in a statement.

NeuralaInspection400x275Neurala, which develops artificial intelligence vision software, has announced raising $12 million to further advance development for the manufacturing industry. The round was led by Zebra Ventures and Pelion Venture Partners, bringing the total invested in Neurala to $26 million.


Micropsi MIRAI 400x275Micropsi Industries has announced the next-generation of its MIRAI software, which uses artificial intelligence to help industrial and collaborative robots learn to perform camera-guided movements more quickly. Through the software, robots can flexibly react to variances in their tasks in real time by learning from humans. The company said MIRAI customers will notice quicker setup times, down from 2-3 days per skill to about three hours, along with increased robot speeds.


JabilOptics400x275Jabil has announced that its optical design center is currently developing a new ominidirectional sensor aimed at robotic and industrial platforms. The 3D time-of-flight  (ToF) depth sensor with a 360-degree-by-60-degree field of view is being developed by combining a custom optical assembly with an active illumination approach. Jabil said the solid-state design is one of several sensing systems that Jabil Optics is designing to support lower-cost autonomous mobile robot and collaborative robot platforms.


AmbarellaCV5S 400x275Ambarella, which develops AI vision technologies, has announced the expansion of its AI vision system-on-chip (SoC) portfolio with the new CV5S and CV52S security families. Based on the company’s CVflow architecture and 5nm process technology, the new SoCs support simultaneous 4K encoding and advanced AI processing in a single low-power design, and is aimed at security camera applications that require multiple sensors for 360-degree coverage over a wide area and with long range, such as outdoor city environments or large buildings.
